“Stories are a part of our lives and are the fabric of our past, present, and future. My fascination with the magic of stories started at a young age when every night I would coax my mother to narrate one, and she would tiredly give in, every time. The fascination turned into a romance when I discovered the oh! so never ending world of books that gave me the freedom to explore beyond the fictional tales and encounter real time stories of our past. Instantly, I became obsessed with the discipline of history as it held a treasure among itself i.e. an assortment and collection of forgotten stories. With time I realized that those stories were not frozen in time but one could still see and feel their echoes in the present in the form of one’s traditions, customs, culture, and heritage.
I found purpose to my love and fascination when I accepted my calling as a conservator of architectural heritage. In my few years of career as a conservation architect, I have worked on a number of projects but I have visited twice as many historic sites. I am not a backpack traveler but I love how my work takes me to those unexplored places that still have their old world charm.
So, after a lot of overthinking I am staring this blog which is an attempt to capture not just the stories of all those places that I have visited or worked on, but also to narrate my experience with them. The journey till now has never been dull and I hope that in the coming years it only gets better.”
